Just got the wheels off my bike to get new tires put on tomorrow. Was able to look under the swingarm... I knew it was dirty, but man, was it filthy!
I need to do a valve inspection too, so I figured this would be a good opportunity to clean out some of the gunk. Not sure how thorough I want to be, since I'm likely tearing the bike apart this winter and getting everything really clean then.
I'm looking for recommendations on what products I can use. I figured I would be just going to Canadian Tire and picking up what they have. I'm following some online tutorials, (such as this one: http://www.visordown.com/workshop/eight-steps-for-the-perfect-clean-motorcycle/15927.html) and most recommend soaking everything in a degreaser to start off. I assume this stuff is meant mainly for unpainted parts (i.e. metal surfaces).
Any recommendations? How about cleaning the fairings? What do you guys use? I have a fair amount of bug gunk on the front too that needs to be tended to.
Will I have to relube anything?
