Classification of the Suzuki Gladius (SFV650)?

Hey folks,

Just wondering if anyone knows/is able to confirm definitively, what type of bike the insurance co's would classify the Suzuki Gladius as.

We've been looking for some information on one, and my GF is considering one at some point in the near future. A Google search has brought up suggestions of it being classified as a Standard, though some seem to indicate more of a Sport/Sport-Touring bike. Also wondering what kind of difference in rates a Standard bike would be vs a Sport-Touring for companies like Jevco, etc.

She would be upgrading from a 2010 Ninja 250r to the Gladius (likely a 2012), so we're very curious to know what the difference in rate would be.

Thanks in advance.

Allstate classifies it as "Sport-Touring" I believe, and will only insure that class of bike if you have home and auto insurance with them. ThePersonal classifies it as the same (I believe) as they do not insure SS bikes.

Rates were reasonable when I called. I had my M1 when I got the bike and my quoted rates were anywhere from $1200/yr to $3600/yr.

BUT, things change with the insurance industry (at least this is what I've been told). Best to call around and see what insurance companies say.

Funny I had my SV650 with all state with nothing else. Sport/Sport Touring is the classification they told me. I am now with Jevco same classification 500+ less a year same coverage.
