I ordered one.

I have one of these from ebay.Works great with its own beacon...not with any others though.

Looks to be an alright unit, and very compact.

Says the beacon will run continously for 5 hours.

Havent used it yet, but it takes AA batteries.

The part that does the "counting" goes on your bike. The bigger part is your beacon.
Attached to your bike via Velcro on the tail, pointing in the proper direction to allow the beacon to pick it up as you go by.

How about the beacon that stays at start line? Do the tracks have those permanently there? Sorry, I really don't know much..

I'm about to order one of these. Just to make it clear---the beacon needs to be mounted to the wall at the track, right? Any chance the timer gets triggered by other people's beacons? That'd be nice

what timer are you gonna have? My understanding is that one beacon is enough for all?!

This model beacon will only work for this exact model.
It won't trigger any other laptimers.

If you have a few people with this exact model, one beacon placed on the front stretch will be fine.
I just placed mine out at mosport and "zx600" Paulo was using my beacon as well.

I'll order one from ebay, same price as v1 i think. Also says it's XT compatible, we'll see..
