Charley Boorman is riding across Canada

Maybe our dandy cagers won't knock him off the bike like the last time he was in Calgary.... just before that one McGregor got hee-hawed from behind on the highway just north of Calgary. Yup they rode around the entire world and never got into an accident with another vehicle..... but just going from Alaska to the US, they each get nailed once in Canada. We have AWESOME drivers here!

Hoah man, I've got to meet this guy! Anyone know his route or schedule or have a link? I'd gladly buy him and his team timmies =D

Don't feel offended if he politely declines. Europeans are used to real stuff, not the brown addictive water they sell here in paper cups .... LOL

If you liked the long way round/down series this should interest you.

A friend loaned me the entire set of DVD's for both long way adventures, LOVED every minute of them. Met Charlie at the bike show in Toronto a few years ago, got his autograph and chatted with him for awhile before he had to go up on stage for a live broadcast. Very nice guy.

But I'll be damned if I ever vist the CMG site again, so if you know of any other links to other sites about his latest adventure I'd appreciate hearing about them.

Hopefully he has a safe ride!

For those that don't know, he also did a show called "By Any Means" (necessary) after the two Long Way trips with McGregor where he basically travelled using different modes of transport -bikes, boats, buses etc. It wasn't as good as the Long Way series but still decent TV.

There is a book version of that too.

You can follow him on twitter @charleyboorman - He tweeted a link announcing the trip on Ustream http://www.ustream.tv/channel/charley-boorman

@RussMalkin (the producer of LWR/LWD) is also a good resource.

Much obliged, TwoTires!

I really enjoyed long way round, but stopped watching long way down when Ewan's wife decides she wants to tag along. Does she go away eventually?

IIRC, about 3/4 through the trip she heads back home. Skipped over all the parts with her in them, actually, so I'm not totally sure on this. Anyway, Down wasn't near as good as Round, but there were a few scenes that had a very profound impact on me.

EDIT: So, yeah, maybe I didn't love EVERY minute of them, but they were both quite entertaining.

Thanks for the info - I'll give it another shot.

She had a rough time at the start, but I think she got into the swing of things pretty quickly. No reason to skip over her parts!

Let's do a ride out and meet this guy when he gets near Toronto like he's Forest Gump!!!!!!!!

I didn't mind her so much, but she annoyed the hell out of my wife for some reason and she had the remote, so...

Cool, anyone know what happened to "Long Way Up"?
