Chain Lube Question - Off Road vs Road

Alright, I might be breaking the "there's no such thing as a dumb question" rule here....

I accidentally purchased off road chain lube made for o rings... as the can looks almost exactly the same as the "on road" version.

I only noticed the difference when I started to wonder why it had a colour to it. I'm wondering if it's okay to use it for a sports bike? Or should I clean the chain again and reapply the proper lube?

O-ring chain lube on non o-ring chain = bad

Just about any kind of lubricant on the planet on an o-ring chain = fine

It'll probably just be messy compared to the street formula.
