chain "jingling" between 8-9K RPM

I have a 2009 Ninja 250R

For the last while I have noticed a "jingling" or rattling sound coming from my chain (I think....) between 8-9K rpms. Isn't there before, and goes away after.

Any ideas? Chain need tightening?

Chain is often lubed, and the bike doesn't even have 3500 kms on it yet... so I can't imagine the sprockets are worn out yet....

Thanks.

Did a quick check and looks as though it is about 3.5cm. I will confirm tonight when I am at home though... but 35mm meets specs according to what I have researched.

Is it always 8-9k rpm regardless of gear?

yeah they tend to slap around....if there aren't any tight spots and the slack is reasonable you'll be fine

Tight spots in the chain can cause the chain to bounce at certin speeds.

Last year I noticed the chain bouncing/tugging at a certain speeds. After looking at it, I noticed a few tight spots and replaced it (with new sprockets).
Now it runs smooth.... (from what I can see in my shadow)

Talking about the slack in the chain changing depending on the location of the rear wheel.

yes... it doesn't seem to matter which gear. I don't understand by "tight spots"....

Sometimes individual links will get ****** off and not bend easily. The stiff link will not straighten out as it passes between the wheels which effectively shortens the chain. If they are really bad, you can see them as they go around.

Jingling can also be a sign of excessive slack - look for wear marks on the swingarm (top & bottom), because in that case the sound is caused by the chain riding directly on the swingarm. 35mm sounds about right to me, you're following the measurement procedure in the manual 100% and not measuring it near a sprocket?
