I called a few major places and they said no way, too old. Does anyone know anyone around the area?

Call around and regular garages as well. My bike was certified by Number 9 Auto Wreckers...

Age of bike has nothing to do with certification. It's either safe or unsafe. Mechanic probably doesn't want to work on it in case it needs something to safety.

As long as there are brakes, good tyres and brake,signal and lights you should be good to go. It's a lot different than a car..
