Yea that was the first review search that came up on google, but then kept reading more reviews and they were mostly favorable. That website killed them on reviews, not sure why.
Amana is the "premium" line of Goodman (which is seen as a budget brand). I wouldn't have any issues with running their stuff in a resi application as long as the install is done right. On a side-note, Goodman earned a bad rep with furnaces because they are the cheapest brand out there so your typical flyby hacks are more likely to install them. What this boils down to is that you would need to find a competent installer who will do the job right. It may cost you quite a few more bucks now, but it's guaranteed to save you a much bigger bundle over the lifetime of your equipment (in energy and repair costs).
