Hi Guys,
Tried searching this forum but couldn't find the info I was looking for...tried googling and all it would say is that CE certified means meeting standards (like DOT)but not much description on EVA.

debating between two perforated leather jackets:

vs
http://www.canadasmotorcycle.ca/river-road-black-pearl-leather-womens-jacket.html

The A* Stella NYC seems bulkier and its the one with CE... the River road I havent really heard of but then again Ive just read a lot about dainese, A*, JR, icon for jackets...

if anyone can shed light on the main differences I would greatly appreciate it!

The E.V.A is just a condensed foam polymer type shock obsorber and in 99% of cased it's not going to be as effective as the majority of CE approved armor at absorbing shock. The black Pearl Jacket can easily be upgraded though as the EVA armor is removable as is on most jackets. There are many varients of CE approved armor that have a soft, semi-hard to hard composition. Don't assume because it is hard it is better at absorbing shock though. Comfort comes a lot into it and most high end CE approved armor is also flexible and comfortable and is very good at dispating and absorbing shock.

Out of the 2 the AlpineStar is the better jacket.
