I am going with a very high probability that name on ownership does not match name on drivers license of the person you meet.

EDIT:
Wouldn't be surprised at all if the story is "my roommate left these in the garage and moved away to xxx and told me I could have them and sell them".

Ya that was my first thought as well.

Pretty brazen if true
 
I would ask the seller to meet at an MTO first, to confirm ownership. Then go and see the bike.
