Carburetor - what's this hose?

Removed the carbs to have them cleaned after I put some bad fuel in the tank. Put everything back together but I don't recall if this hose went somewhere or it's just suppose to hang loose?

It comes from between the two carbs via a kind of t-bone connector. You can see by the free end that it doesn't look like it was actually hooked up to anything because there's no marks on the end at all.

Help :)

Okay, here's an exploded view. I did some other research and I guess this is supposed to technically go into a charcoal canister, as per Cali emissions.

So just let the hose kinda drop down and out...?

Yes.

The 500R also has a similar vent hose coming from the carb rail. Either remove it or run it down low and where it won't burn on the exhaust. Most importantly do not block the hole at the vent rail or kink the hose. This could lead to the bike stalking while riding or bad running and hard starting conditions.
