Simple...if you are on a bike and being tailgated, brake check once to let the perrson know he/she is too close, if the tailgater doesn't back off, you accelarate and leave.
Wrong advice.
If you brake check and they are too close, they might bump into you If you accelerate and leave, they'll probably keep on you and go faster.
Correct advice: Change lanes, let them pass you, or do what you need to get behind or away from them whilst following the rules of the road.
