Car crashes into girl rider after left turn

repost... And the general consensus from GTAM was that she was mostly in the wrong. The car seemed to be going too fast, but she merged directly to the right lane and then failed to get up to the speed of traffic.

I agree with "RMEMEDIC" that car was going super fast... but you can never assume oncoming traffic is doing the speed limit either. Lesson - always triple check when making a turn :p

still a crazy video!

The only vehicles legally allowed to make a left turn into the right lane are public transit busses. Its called a transit turn and shes completely at fault just because of that fact.

but when you check the footage and look down the stretch of road, it looked clear.
I guess maybe a visual illusion due to camera and the rider with the cam was experienced enough to not merge into the far lane knowing a car was coming up.

I watched this vid a few times the other day and it wasn't until my wife said "look how hard she's trying not to stop" that I realized she made the turn when it wasn't safe because she was just learning.

Id say mainly her fault. Also giving a person that just had an accident something to drink is a VERY bad idea. People in shock should never be given anything to eat or drink until they have come back down.

Go Stryker rig

Obviously a new rider. Reminds me a lot of my first time ever out on the road actually (last year). Also she's in the wrong turning position, the turn itself was bad, but what was up with the person with the cam turning riiight next to her? You can also see his headlights tearing up the right lane as they turn.

Good point. She didn't come to a stop at all and just rolled through. Perhaps, as a new rider she just wanted to avoid having to do a 'difficult' start-from-stop and risk stalling.

Much of the problem was from the bike following her.
He cut the car off and forced it to the right.
Notice that the car that STOPPED at that octagonal sign was long gone when the accident occurred.
If the cameraman had not run the stop sign too, the car could have passed her on the left.

Which part of Europe was this in?
