Car accidents affecting motorcycle insurance rates?

Hi guys,

I checked the sticky on what affects motorcycle insurance premiums, and it did say that at fault accidents will affect the premium. What I'm wondering is if this is specifically for a history of at-fault motorcycle accidents or does this include past history of auto accidents as well?

Thanks!

If your with State Farm if you have a car /bike accident it will affect everything because from what I understand you lose your group discount rating. This also happens if your wife or the other person on your policy has an accident or ticket on their record.

I don't insure my car through State Farm, would it still affect the bike premium?

Pretty much all insurance companies look at at fault car accidents and at fault motorcycle accidents as the same thing except for Jevco where they just look at your motorcycle history (to insure your motorcycle obviously).

I do not know of any insurance company that will insure a car without looking at your driving history overall.

Perfect, thanks for the info guys!
