I would've taken Seabrook over Suban.


and Definitely would've included St Louis. He deserves it. and the team would be better with him on it.
as Stamkos said "what more can i guy do?" it's true. St. Louis should be on the team. i don't get it.

Especial stamkos and St. Louis as a combination.
Too bad, he would have been a great addition.
What Health issue does saku have ? Would have been his 5th Olympics.

Agreed, Seabrook is miles better then Suban. This is a 5th place team at best.

Suban is too much of a mouth piece for the euro game. He'll e riding pine in no time. Either in the box or on the bench. My only other real gripe is Kunitz. I'm sorry, I could score if I played with Crosby.
 
i think theres more to the st. louis converstation than is being mentioned.
i can't see how Yzerman could just leave him off, unless there is something else going on.

Subban? he's going to lose us games unless they can get him to shut up.

otherwise Luongo? really?

Bouwmeetser and Kunitz are also headscratchers

id rather have either lucic or jeff skinner than kunitz

Skinner would have been a great addition. Small but fast as hell.
As for PK... We are over analyzing it a bit. He will be a 7th defenseman. I don't see him breaking into the top 6.

Let's just hope stamkos can make it as well.

players are being overpaid nowadays, so phaneuf 7 mill i can live with… but he really should NOT have gotten the "C" or still have the "C". he is a 3-4 defenceman on any decent team. Leafs just lack depth… along with other issues.

yes, Subban will cost us PK goals if put on the ice. this is against the best in the world, so PP opportunities are crucial if/when given to other team. Suban is offensive, but really? on this team offence shouldn't be a problem. lol just look at our top 6 forwards. Boyle or Seabrook would've made much more sense. especially Seabrook since he already plays with Kieth and they are among best pair in the league. i mean since kunitz already made the team cuz he play with Crosby.

Im guessing/hoping that if stamkos isn't healthy or ready in time… St. Louis better be next guy on the list.

as for goalies… as Shannon mentioned on Sportsnet, seems to be a tradition where goalie that starts loses, and the replacement takes the team to the gold medal. so i see Price taking over after game 2 and going all the way with the team.

I agree with most everything. One thing I can't is deons 7 mill. Hell kaberle was more productive and was 4.5. Can even go as far as saying McCabe. But I agree, that "C" should have gone to another jersey.

Must have been one hell of a hard decision for stevey Y to make that all to St. Louis. As I believe he is GM for the lighting as well.

Subban's plus/minus for Montreal is terrible this year ;).

On a better team he would be a Norris trophy winner for sure.......;)

yea, i know i agree. i was ****** off and even months ago said if phaneuf got paid over 5 mill (and i would prefer 4.5) that i'd stop watching leaf games till he was traded. lol
but the Hockey analysts and nonis' explanation… i kinda get it,
leafs are cornered and have no one else to fill the minutes. they had no choice. either he'd walk away and get paid 6+ mill somewhere else, or they had to sign him.

hell, even 2 years ago, Phaneuf was voted as "THE MOST OVERrated player in the NHL" BY his fellow NHL players!
so that right there says A LOT!!!
 
I see what they were going for. In their eyes it's a healthy mix of youth and vets. I just hope we go in their with a physical presence. As it always runs down the euros.
I don't think we lack in the scoring. As we have Crosby and getzlaf. Top 2 of 3 in the league. Now if we could get Kane to change his citizenship! ;)

Leafs are a wreck this year. I consider their season over at this point. Goaltenders can only stop 40 plus shots for so Long before they start to crumble. Let the crumble begin!
