Can I Use Your Torque Wrench?

Just finished replacing front and rear wheel bearings. I think everything went well, but I don't have a torque wrench or the sockets to properly torque the axle nuts (19mm and 22mm). I also wouldn't mind someone more experienced having a look at my chain to confirm I got the tension and rear wheel alignment right.

Would anyone be willing to share their access to these tools? I can come to wherever you are, and shouldn't take more than 5-10 minutes.

I'm planning a trip to Parry Sound and back on Sunday, so I was hoping to find someone who's available on Saturday.

BRAMPTON, Saturday after 8pm.

Buying the tools was my original plan, except the socket sizes I need are only available in 1/2" drive size, and are about $8 each. The 1/2" drive torque wrench on sale doesn't do anything under 50 ft-lbs, and my nuts need to be 26.0 - 37.5 front, 36.0 - 58.0 rear. The cheap 1/2" drive torque wrench (which isn't on sale) is only $26, but I'm still looking at $42+ to tighten 2 nuts.

If I do this kind of thing every year it might be worth it, but I'm not sure I can justify it right now until I have a better idea how much use I'll get out of it. I'm also still looking for someone with experience to double check my chain/wheel alignment for me, which is my I asked around to see if anyone would be willing to help me instead.

You're right, long term if this is going to be a regular thing I'm probably better off buying my own set. In the short term though, if I can get someone to help with this in return for a beer, that works better for me right now.

Drive adapter.

Can you elaborate?

Won't help you in this case. But something like this....3/8" In and 1/2" drive out..

Ah, I see. For whatever reason I thought adapters only went down for smaller drive sockets, not up. Maybe that's just the more common application?

And yeah, while I appreciate the suggestion, that's really adding to the list another thing I'd have to buy. If I did end up going down that route I'd probably just get the cheap 1/2 wrench and sockets.

I have the torque wrenches, 19mm socket, but not the 22mm, near Laird & Eglinton.

Thanks a lot for the offer, and thanks to everyone else who PM'd me. I got it taken care of this morning.

For anyone else who comes across this, I happened to find a much better setup at princess auto than what is available at canadian tire. They sell a good quality 3/8 drive torque wrench for $30 that does 10-80 ft-lbs, which I think covers everything on my bike. They also sell just about any drive adapter you can think of for $2-3 each, and assorted sockets for $2-3 each.

Thanks again for everyone's help.

Anyone have one of the princess auto torque wrench? Read a few reviews and they were pretty negative. Wonder if anyone has experience with them here

I have a snap on and canadian tire and a digital princess auto torque wrench. They all work great for different things. The snap on has degrees mode which is nice for stretch bolts. The princess auto torque wrench works pretty well. I have no complaints with any of them.

Ive had my PA torque wrench for a few years. Never had an issue with it yet.
But i was always told to take the tension off after everytime you use it, and reset it back to zero. It makes them last longer ..
