I recently bought a 2009 KLX 250s and have been looking for insurance,
I am mid-thirties, married, have had M license for 6 years, M1, M2, and M for 9 years total and am in Mississauga. I haven't had bike insurance in 2 years, but prior to that I had coverage. No tickets, no accidents.
I went through Viffer's list from the sticky:
Coverage: No collision, $500 all-perils or spec perils (only care about fire and theft), $1 mil liability.
Aviva: $837 (through Open Road Powersports)
Jevco: $592 (through Open Road Powersports)
Rider's Plus: $624
Melloche Monnex with a university alumni discount: $371
TD with a work perks discount: $570
Primmum: redirected to TD
All of these were done online and I haven't yet checked State Farm or any Brokers.
Realistically, from other guys my age, should I even bother looking any more or is $371 where it's at?
None of these include discounts for having my house or car with them... I will check into that at renewal time for the house and car.
