HI, I just picked up my 09 gixxer and it came with a r55 Yoshi Slip on. If there anyway to convert the current slip on into a full system to save money or do I have to buy the full system with muffler ?

Any insight will help please !

Thanks

Yes you can buy just the header and all other parts, springs ,clamps etc. Try contacting yosh north america but, you will have to order it through a yosh dealer as they won't ship it to you direct!! I know some people who have done this I'll try to get details for you!!

The slip-on is designed to mate with your stock, factory headpipes (which are very good - they're light, stainless steel, and carefully designed for power).
You cannot convert it to full system to "save money".
It might be possible, though unlikely, to do - but will cost you more to special-order all the parts than just buying full system.
Bottom line:
Just ride it.
If you want full system, think LeoVince...
Also, I hope you have budgeted ~$400 bucks for a PowerCommander and $75 for K&N if you go full system.
Not sure why you desire anyway. Gixxer600 needs torque, you don't really have any to trade for more horsepower.
You already have horsepower...

Exhaust design can be changed to build or move the peak torque of the motor.

the K&N is a waste of time as well, the GSXR makes LESS power with that filter than it does with an OEM filter

Here is a great solution to make a "full" system.....mjsperformance.com they make race headers, and will cost you 300-400 bucks and it will more then likely be a great fit for the slip-on, and it will sound incredible..also like gryphon said you will need a power commander but it will not cost you 400...look online and you can find some great deals or search the forum for power commanders, i did this for my R6 and i couldnt be happier
