Calling current insurance company?

I was considering calling my current insurance company to try and get a quote for a motorcycle added onto my existing policy. My only concern is last year I received a speeding ticket. Now with that being said they had already reissued me a new policy for my truck with a lower premium. So I would think that they probably re-evaluated my policy with my record.

Could I risk my insurance rates by calling in and asking for a quote?

I don't think they do a check on you when issuing a quote, probably just when the policy is issued. That being said, might be easier/better to check out some on-line quotes that can give you the info you are looking for anonymously. If you feel the ticket will affect your current policy, maybe you do need to go to a different company for the motorcycle and hopefully just have that one affected by the ticket.

Most companies do not check your MTO convictions history each renewal because it is too expensive; however, they will check your MTO record before a new vehicle is added to the policy.

What is your current company? With the exception of State Farm, most companies will give you the first convictions for free anyway. I think Jevco even gives you two for free.
