Calling all 00-02 ZX6R owners / anyone who's rebuilt a bike

Hey everyone, hope this post is in the right spot, but I've got a few questions for both 00-02 ZX6R owners, as well as anyone who has experience ordering online / shopping around for parts.

Basically I had a little incident last night, and I need some new parts for my bike which include mirrors, a wind screen, a brake lever, headlights, a rear fender eliminator kit, the upper fairing bracket on the older kawis (i.e. the monkey bars that stick out and bolt onto the frame) and of course, new fairings.

The bike still starts, alignment isn't messed, and the situation could have been a lot worse, so I'm glad about that. However, I'm a little weary about ordering my fairings off ebay. I've found everything else with the exception of the monkey bars, so I guess what I'd like to know from you guys is:

1) There's a lot of 50/50 comments regarding the ABS fairings found on ebay. I need a replacement and would prefer to not get raped by OEM prices from kahuna. Are the ABS plastics worth the $500 for the set?

2) Can anyone recommend other online stores who are, for lack of a better term, legit, when it comes to ordering and delivering parts to Canada?

I'd like to get everything resolved by the end of June, because I know the turn around time for orders online and on ebay can be a little lengthy.

Any advice would be incredibly helpful, and I appreciate all comments in advance!

Having installed a new set of those ebay fairing on an 07/08 ZX6R I personally think they ARE worth the money. You can't even get a paint job for $500 in toronto. Let a lone a full set of plastics. Sure some of the tabs needed massaging to line up a little better and I had to widen a couple holes by a few millimeteres. But all in all for $500 I think they looked damn good and they come with every little piece of trim which I thought was great.

I am also pretty familiar with the 00-02 ZX6R and those panels don't have any really tight fitting tabs or anything like that so I think ebay fairings will be even better value in that regard. All you have to do is put a little bit of heat protection on the lower fairings to protect them from warping by the exhaust and think you are good to go.

Thanks for the website and suggestion smis, and thanks Freestyle for the detailed response. You've made me feel a lot more comfortable with making the purchase!
