A Caledon man has been charged with stunt driving after police clocked a car going more than double the speed limit near Orangeville on Tuesday.
OPP say officers clocked a silver-coloured Honda Accord going 184 km/h in an 80 zone near Highway 10 and Highpoint Sideroad, northwest of Toronto.
Andrew Pearce, 19, of Caledon, has been charged with stunt driving. In accordance with the province’s stunt driving law, the man’s licence was immediately suspended for seven days and his car has been impounded for seven days.
A conviction carries a maximum fine of $10,000 and a driver’s licence suspension of up to two years.

Woohoooo... the ride has just begun for this 19 yr old kid.

Doesn't matter, that's ********!!
Ambulance's with a dying patient on board aren't allowed to go that fast so there's nothing in the world to justify that!

I was being sarcastic. But yeah, I would not want to be him right now.

Good, hope he gets slapped with the max fine, license suspended, court fees, layer, F*d with insurance (but then again, he'll probably drive without it in the future). Being under 20, a**es like this make me look bad.

Nice catch.

The comments thus far are amusing too. Would they have come had the Honda been a CBR600RR instead of an Accord?

Wonder that as well. Certain members here talk about going 200 kph, and there's nowhere that's not double the speed limit. Don't see people hoping they get slammed with stunting...

If this kid got caught prior to HTA 172 coming into effect, he probably would have got charged with dangerous driving. So who's really laughing?

bikers on this forum never speed, and if they do its the cops fault for pointing the radar at them.. evil police.. pure harassment!!! you know that.

Normally I get flamed for saying that people shouldn't contravene the law and my opinion on that hasn't changed. However when it comes to speeding excessively for a "justifiable" reason (not legally justifiable) there are two hypothetical situations where it could be considered understandable why someone would do it. The first one is literally running for your life, but the smart thing to do is to drive quickly to a police station. The other is the immanent unexpected death of a loved one. (Doctor calls you and says you'd better be here right away your ______ doesn't have long to live"

Now the offender in this situation probably was just being a moron and didn't give 2 poops about endangering other motorists. But if he was was speeding because his situation matched the aforementioned hypothetical then at least there is a conceptually understandable (albeit still wrong) motive involved beyond a what amounts to be a cheap thrill.

Sure.

I have absolutely no problem with bad cops being held to account and facing the justice system where appropriate, none whatsoever.

it's funny you say that since you NEVER post cops getting charged!!!

184 in and 80 who gives a ****, you guys are such nannys

The hilarious thing is the link to the convicted DRUNK driving COP who gets to KEEP his job, clowns.
