Calabogie on my RSV4 Factory

I really didn't want to hurt my beautiful street bike, so I took it fairly easy entering and through corners, but blitzed the throttle to test the traction control out. ;) Ended up with a 2:21 best lap time, which isn't bad considering how easy I took it in corners like 6 and 12 especially.

Hopefully I will get some action pictures from Turn 21, which took a pile of them. However, I am wearing my spare suit which doesn't fit me anymore, since Velocity has taken a month so far to repair my leathers. :(

A couple more pics:

The CBR dropped a rod bearing, we think... :(

And two other bikes... my re-assembled (but still missing some parts... argh) 600 and my friend Rod's 600. We had three riders and two spouses, so full house in the camper. :)

It wasn't wet the whole day, but I did several times get rain sluicing off my visor. Not enough to bring me in off track, though! Unfortunately on Monday we did get about two hours of lightning watch.

did they run again after 330? We gave up and packed it in around that time. Nice meeting you

Yes but only if you were willing to ride in rain. I did but soon came in.

Hi Steve,

Sal here, it was nice meeting you this weekend. Overall we had a blast considering monday it was suppost to rain all day, so we can't complain. But tuesday we had double dipping (only two groups), a lot of track time. I guess I will see you on the 14th if you are there. Cheers!

For sure! Look forward to it.

Not sure what I was doing here, probably looking at the crashed rider on corner 2. :(

Weird!!!! He sent me his vcard and it says Hernendez! There is only one way to settle this....track battle! That will prove which Ducati riding Nevid is which! ;)

#98, Fila decals right? Same guy!

Nice vid, check mine from my first day at Bogie and my second day tracking my commuter (1199S). I'm eager to go head to head with an HP4 or RSV4 who runs similar lap times for shts and giggles. For the sake of comparison, what do you run at Cayuga? Let's swap some Italian paint...literally, hehehe....you'll get what I mean when you see the vid.

My best laps were on a damp track. First 2 sessions were escorted laps (green). 1 dry (green), 1 dry cut short due to a red flag (yellow), 1 wet, then 1 damp (yellow - best of the day)!

Nice. I don't usually take the rsv4 out and that was REALLY easy on corner speed but you vs. my gsxr sure, I am game to play. I don't mind losing either, if I learn from it.

I will post up some 600 video, entry speed is much different, believe me.

Hmmm then you won't be gentle! Hahaha. Sure I could go for my *** being handed to me too...a tussle with you might help me get down to the 1:17s....something tells me you're crazy fast ;)

My best is a high 2:10. I have to be in a mood anf on a 1000, though. At Bogie a big bike works well.

Holy smokes, I am out of my depth here! Let's change that race request to a "can I please follow you at around while you run a casual pace so I can mooch lines off you?"

Forgot about this thread... here's a video of me on the 600. This was totally randomly selected from some video so I wouldn't make of it anything in particular, but it's an indication of corner entry speed at 'bogie if you want to get down into the low 2:10s... had a request from a friend on IRC and uploaded the first lap I found. I don't make it much under 2:20 with the 600, the 1000 has more tire, more brakes and a LOT better straight speed than the 600 (and I'm habitually a 1000cc rider).

Somehow Youtube made the video slightly longer when they did processing on it, original video upload was 2:19 total (so roughly a 2:18 lap). Anyway, hope it's instructional in some way.
