That was a really great day. My bike did nothing wrong, ran fantastic (wasn't sure because a change of plugs and filter may NOT have fixed a stutter it was exhibiting the week prior). I got up to a really good speed by afternoon and ran in the sharp end of the group - then a pile of ex-champions playing incognito got out on the track and SCHOOLED ME...
Which is great, because trying to follow their pace upped mine and taught me places where I could make up time. Wish I'd put a stopwatch on me but I know that I was running John Sharrard's pace comfortably on the tester R1 he was on, for a while. He was running 2:09-2:14 but I don't know if that was his pace when I was trailing him.
All in all, couldn't have asked for better weather or a better experience. And I have a "free" track day yet to come since I took advantage of Pro6's great deal. Now that I half-assed know which direction to zig and zag, it should be a good one, too.
Edit: as always, Pro6 put on a great event... and next time I bring the fast bike.
