CAA roadside assistance update - COVID 19

I got a ride in the truck last August when my Bike's battery went rogue while playing Photo tag.
(I was a bit worried they might not allow me to ride in the truck, but he was ok to let me ride in the truck with my mask on)

Sh*t, this reminds me to renew that CAA membership now that I'll be commuting on an old scooter. Only sure way to avoid the Toronto tow-truck mafia. Thanks!

You wish, had my car hooked up by CAA truck, waiting for the cops report, 2 other tow trucks showed up, talked to CAA guy, he came over and said, sorry man, I need to go. He dropped my car and left. I called caa next morning told them the whole story and said I can file complain against the driver, which I didn't do.

Well knowing tow truck driving habits, you'd bet they don't exactly follow the rules. 🤷‍♂️

Yeesh. How long ago was this? Knowing some cops proven relationship to this whole mess (suspended with pay! that'll learn 'em!), I wouldn't be surprised if the paperwork delay was part of the story. Should've filed that complaint.

I'll put it another way: CAA is your best hope of avoiding the criminal parasites that call themselves tow-truck drivers and their uniformed enforcers in this city...

Depends on which driver you get. Some don't give a dang.

I have a friend who was a light duty CAA for a while and he got exposed to so many people, in the end he didnt really care. He did stop doing it last year and move out of the country but in such closed quarters he'd ask for mask but it was hit or miss whether he got it. There also were lots of calls from people quarantining wanting to get a boost in their driveway after having travelled.
Or people who had tested positive wanting boosts in their driveways too. Twas a wild time.

Tow boy would have been the star in my YT clip for that.

They probably gave him the options of a broken nose, or a fire damaged truck.

Parasites. The whole industry needs an overhaul but the only way that'll happen is if insurance just stops paying them out for their extortion rates.

Then the consumer just gets it up the poop chute again...
