C3 helmet issues

There has always been a laughable issue with the C3 where the visor will not stay in a partial open position. The company claimed it was a safety feature.....nah just a bad design. Can be fixed for $35 here and annoying but will suck it up. It will be the third one.
There are a couple of hacks with an earplug. Might try that first.

I would like a new visor but it runs $150 here for the proprietary design ....

NOW tho...the mechanism that holds the full front of the helmet open is failing.....it will drop closed on it's own which is a pain especially when photographing..
Has anyone tried to tighten that hinge?
I don't have the funds to buy a top end convertible - I tried a Shark Evo but hated the visor coating...optically blurry.
I'll likely suck it up and replace the C3 visor for nearly $200 with the friction fit repair kit and the clear visor....and that's without sorting the droopy lift.

OR
the home grown helmet line for a similar price point new shipped all in. Been around for $179.

This comes up from EasyR which is my go to supplier here.
Like the features and the price point $155 all in shipped plus returnable.
I ordered it ...will see. EasyR are really good to deal with.
Like the ventilation, hope the visor optical quality is good as advertised.
Hope it is decently quiet. 🍿

Not all that fond of the colour scheme but it's enough white to qualify for my use.
Comes pin lock insert ready which turns out I do need here ( another strike against the C3 as it is not being able to crack the visor and have it hold.)
This review is pretty independent.

A flip-up helmet for tourers and everyday commuters, offering comfortable fit and a dynamic outer shell design. The double P/J homologation allows it to be used both as an open face and a full-face helmet, ensuring maximum safety.

A smartly designed vent system on the top and mouth areas along with the clear vision of flat high-grade Pinlock® ready 70 visor offers full comfort even in extreme weather conditions, both during long trips and everyday commuting.

GULLWING offers a complete range of features such as Internal Retractable Sun Visor, Wind Stops, and Pinlock® 70 ready visor. Available in solid color and high-visibility versions, these helmets offer you complete style and safety.

The construction of the shell allows the helmet to pass the latest 22.06 CE Standard with ease while keeping weight to a minimum. Although at a price point SMK leave nothing on the table - the channeled ventilation keeps your head cool with multiple intake and exhaust points, the liner is made of multiple densities of foam to be soft & comfortable on the first ride, but not compact after a few weeks and added features on some models including internal sun visors truly make SMK one of the best value for money brands on the market today

Ls2 makes one that locks up behind your head like the sharks. I have one here that i used occasionally only for teaching ..these days it's collecting dust. You can have it if you think it would fit, pretty sure it's a medium but it's black.

Thanks but shipping would cost a ton and I take between L and XL ...one reason I ordered from a supplier that I can return. I wear a thin balaclava to keep IEMs in place so rather slightly loose than tight.

Appreciate that SMK shout out. How did you find sizing?

I'm an XXL - it fits about the same as everything else in the fleet. Pretty quiet. A round/round head shape. The only ones I've struggled with over the last couple of decades are HJC and Bell, they just don't work for me. I had a Scorpion which I loved, and then they changed it.
