This is the bike i am planning to buy. Essentially driving to London and putting it on the back of a Dakota pickup truck, head back to TO.

The bike comes without Fairings. What do you guys suggest? He told me the bike may need a rear tire and chain guard for certification. What should i be looking at before paying for it. Should i buy it? Pros and Cons of getting a unfairinged bike, any other issues with a customized bike? Need your expertise on this one.

Thanks

Do you plan on leaving the street fighter look or swapping it back?
If you plan on leaving it as is then it might be the bike for you, If you plan on swapping it back I wouldn't touch it.
If you plan on swapping it back be prepared to drop quite a bit of time and money into it, Fairings are not cheap if you go OEM, also needs new headlight, He might have made a custom gauge set-up, if he did it himself then be prepared for ****** re-wiring?
Most likely has been down and the reason it went to a fighter, If not he should maybe still have the parts to switch it back.

I don't plan to put the fairings on it really. Its my 1st bike, also protecting the fairings is quite a bit of work. It just takes a small drop even while putting it on a stand to screw things up. I don't think i can take the hassle especially since i am new and would change the bike next year(Props to all the Bikers who do it, not trying to diss anyone :). Are there issues with center of gravity, aerodynamics etc with the bike as customizing it would definitely change it from custom settings which were set for a specific weight and body type. Also are there any general problems with street fighters i should know off? any precautions?

You will take an *** kicking on the highway with no windscreen but its not like it has never been done before.
COG, handling and all that stuff would be minimaly affected as your really just taking off the fairings and replacing the headlight, From what I can see its all cosmetic.
I personally have never had a fighter type bike as they are not my cup of tea (Looks like a cheap fix to a dumped bike IMO), but thats just my opinion.

If you wanted fairings for it
We have Ninja 250R Injection Fairings, email info@motorcyclefairingsrus.com for parts or full kits

They would probably be under $600 shipped.

Thanks man,

Putting the fairings and changing light etc will cost me at least 1000$ i believe. The bike is for 2300$, Should i?? hmmmm...

I have a 09 with 2500kms on it its red and has a bit of rash on the left side. Could be selling it for $2900. and I'm in scarborough.

I rode my naked Ninja on the 403 from Hamilton to Mississauga, no fairings, no front cowl, no windscreen, no mirrors, no front signals...It wasn't that bad but I wonder how many tickets I'd have got if I got pulled over. Regarding the price I'd pay no more that 2 Gs

Looks better than a full faired 250 IMO. Just get a fatter rear tire and your good to go

no more black ninja with the yoshi eh? Hmmm diggin the street fighter look lmao i'd say if it check out and looks fine go for it and have some fun :p

You may also need a front fender or mudguard to safety

The 2900km bike the other poster mentioned sounds a better buy
