Im looking at a bike that has New Brunswick plates, Seller lives here ( training at CFB Borden )... I asked him to get a UVIP, He said the Ontario MTO had no history of his bike ( of course )

Whats the equivalent of a UVIP from New Brunswick??

anyone deal with buying outside the Province before??

What should I ask for??

And I assume Im paying Taxes to ontario since the transaction is here?

Anyone know the process and what I'll need to transfer the bike to Ontario Plates

NB still has UVIP, Just needs to be obtained in NB. Just walk away from this one unless they can get the package for you.

Can't you get it online or ask to get it faxed to you?

Also, wouldn't you have to pay PST when you'll be transferring out-of-province ownership?

They did recently add the ability to renew plates online so this many be an option.

I've spent the whole evening trying to find the UVIP section on the New Brunswick web site

he did a lien check (which was on the NB website ) and he said he called NB and there is nothing that " Service New Brunswick "

Ive e-mailed the NB ministry of motor vehicle and will call them myself after the weekend and talk to them myself, and im headed to MTO to find out what other things i need from " seller " to transfer the bike to me

Keep us posted, good to know just in case someone else deals with this in the future.

Just got off the phone with " Service New Brunswick " (their version of MTO ) and talked to a service representative and asked If they do a "Used Vehicle Information Package" and if its required to sell a motor vehicle. They DO NOT do this service nor require it to sell a vehicle

The govt desn't handle the lien checks anymore and its up to the seller to provide it using a Third person company on the Govt site. ( I Checked )

As long as the bike is registered, not expired and all the names and Numbers ( VIN ) matches, its a legitimate sale...

and TAX is paid in the province the BUYER is registering the bike to
