Only thing you need to make sure is the bike has no branding. Otherwise it's pretty straight forward. I bought a bike from manitoba and went to the MTO just like any other bike with a signed ownership and finished the deal.

Bought mine from Drummondville, just past Montreal.
Had the dealer put a temp plate on it and rode it home the same day.
Had to do an Ontario safety, and plate it. All done the next day.
Easy. No hassles.

Wow, really? Is that because bikes in Quebec are much cheaper than in Ontario? LOL

No. The old story is that the machine could have been totalled, fixed up and then sold as safe for the road. Once in Ontario you would never know about it. There was risk. No Idea how relavent that is today.

Hm, I see, but wouldn't it be applicable pretty much to any location? Yes, some locations may have higher crime rate, etc etc, but that's why the buyer is supposed to do their homework before buying.

Of course. But if it happened to a bike that was registered in Ontario it could not be sold as certifiable for road use without you knowing about the accident (or maybe ever for all I know). If the vehicle came from Quebec that could be bypassed and you think the vehicle was never down once it is Ontario registered. I don't believe that's the case if you get it from Quebec directly. Again though, my info is just rumour that I've heard throughout the years so my info could in fact be false or out of date.

Quebec has different laws regarding branded bikes being put back on the road. Here's an old thread that may explain it.

That's all understandable, but telling people not to buy a bike from QC because they have different rules is not really valid either. You may buy a non-branded bike in Ontario and you will never know that that bike was down. Same for Quebec and for all other place if the accident was never reported. All I am saying - do your due diligence and you will get a good deal and won't get scammed.

Given how quickly you were to reply without any links to help him out you can see how it's easier to post than search. I wouldn't begrudge anyone for asking - the search functionality of vbulletin is, to say the least, ******.
