Yes. Your just transferring ownership. It may be classified as unfit and will need To be trucked for safety before you can plate it though.

I assume though that if the bike is already safetied you can get it switched without plates. Then get insurance and plates when you want.

I called several insurance companies and they all told me that fire & theft coverage as a stand alone policy was not available. I would be interested to know if there are any that do.
 
I bought mine with no insurance. She said it can't be plated but there was no problem transferring the ownership. Legally, you can't street it. When you're ready to ride, just get insurance on it and go to service Ontario. They'll issue you a plate with proof of ownership, registration and a safety
