Buy Helmets

They are a reputable online store, though you will have to watch the shipping charges to Canada. I tried ordering some gear from there as it was cheaper then in Canada, but once you put the shipping on it the price was no longer that good.

You should be trying on any helmet you buy first as well, I would not recommend buying a helmet online unless you have tried it on somewhere before hand.

Don't forget the exchange rate either. Look at canada's motorcycle, they have a good selection too, and ship out of quebec.

One word though, if you're planning on 100% buying online, don't waste any instore salesperson's time. Reason you're paying less online is cuz you don't get that level of personal service.

i find that a lot of people tend to go try on in store and then check online to see if they can find better lol

with all the different head shapes, different brands and padding... it's almost impossible to guess what will fit.
I personally ordered directly online but when im in store and buy something else (say oil, or another piece of gear) i might try stuff on to get an idea if i like it or not. it's just being smarter with your money and if that sales person is good, they might get that customer back at some point even if they didn't buy on that specific day.

Just note that Canada's Motorcycle takes returns on helmets and resells likely without properly checking internal components. Received one with a minor scratch on the visor underneath the sticker that was obviously reapplied. Returned it.

If your plan to purchase online via a US vendor is mainly to save money, then consider that the exchange rate alone makes buying stateside now way less attractive than it has been in recent years. It is disheartening to not have this viable option for many products. There might still be US deals to be had though in the case of sales but imaging saving a further 30%.

Having said that, I would not buy shoes/boots or helmets online without trying them out first as the chances it won't fit optimally are present more than, say, a jacket.

Correct, which is why so many businesses fold - apparently many people don't understand the concepts of overhead in a business.

I bought a helmet from Revzilla last month. So far no problems but it is still sitting at CBI so its travels are not done yet.

I did originally try to get it at GP Bikes but the sole Canadian supplier is out of stock so I had to order from states. With the conversion rate as ****** as it is, plus taxes the price is the same (keep in mind that doesn't include duties if any when crossing the border) if I was to have bought it at GP. So no benefit from buying it across the border, just more of a hassle.

They don't ship Shoei products to Canada. Don't know why, they just don't.

That's all I got.

Some manufacturers have deals or restrictions with suppliers/retailers about cross border sales. I know I ran in to this problem when buying Burton stuff as well. One of the main reasons is because of the huge difference in MSRP on products between the states and Canada. So the manufacturers place restrictions on US suppliers about shipping to Canada to protect the Canadian suppliers/retailers business/sales as a LOT of people would buy from the states and not here.

the way around that, getting it shipped to a border warehouse (like CBI) and doing the customs clearing yourself...or in certain cases installing on the other side of the border and crossing back. if anyone asks, i didnt tell anyone about the latter
