Considering how much work a 15 min track session is, not surprised.
Ohhh yes. At that level they have to be fully committed to this sport. Whatever time is left over between race weekends (4 days per weekend x 20 weekends per year) and testing (several more days per year counting only the official tests) and sponsor or race team or promotional activities (varies a lot) and travelling between all these events (adds up, when you are travelling the world) ... they spend a lot of it training. It is a full time job and not one with regular hours.
Iannone is not the first to get busted by the FIM for this. Noriyuki Haga got in hot water 20 years ago, although evidently in that case it was found that the compound under test occurred naturally in herbal remedies that he was using at the time.
And its not just at the world class level where drugs are a problem, thats just where all the testing gets done and its a "media" story when a world class athelete gets cooked.
