bu-bye msn.... hello skype

man I'm getting old.

Anything else, really. Skype is a closed protocol, so that may drive more people over to Google as they will have more choice when it comes to client applications.

Eff I hate computers now. Bring back the windows 98 days. This perpetual regurgitation is sickening.

And you will be running Windows 98 on?
People get caught up on crap they don't need or services that make them feel cool vs. function.

The world will be all on Google soon enough.

REally now out of all the members on here prolly less then 20% still use msn , It was big 5-10 years ago and like everything else these days it is slowly fading away...

I only use it these days to see if I have an unread email, without logging into hotmail. Hope that feature carries over to skype.

Yup, I stopped using MSN a while ago... although I don't really use skype either... or facebook... or twitter... yahoo messenger is where it's at... lol jk, anyone remember AOL? lmao!

the proliferation of smartphones, facebook, and texting made MSN redundant. For for a time, it was the de facto communication tool for computer users.

i still use it to talk to the guy sitting behind me... and most of the ppl from past lives...

this is like moving, need to figure who needs to be notified about address change...

I started using G mail lately and i like it especially since you can call people thru your internet and it shows up as the call is coming from California :P

Windows 98 was full of function. In fact I am still using microsoft office 97. Anyone who has been around to watch the evolution of computers will know the days of 98 there were plenty of useful programs and peripherals to be attached to the computer in those days. If you had Visual Basic programming skills you could create programs for 98 operating system. Good luck programing for todays operating systems. The end user has lost control of the computer.

As for google, doubtful. Tablets will be an epic fail in my opinion. A decent Laptop and a samsung Galaxy 2 or Iphone 5 is all I need.

Java
node.js
C++

How is it hard to create a program again? I don't know if CL is free or not (as I have Visual Studio for free) but node.js and Java come w/ "compilers" for "free".

I'd argue JavaScript is easier than Basic and if worse comes to worse, RAM is dirt cheap. Buy 24 gigabytes, 2 TB drives, another monitor and dual boot with some Linux distro.

From your message I just feel like you're stuck in "the old days".
