You can't make that comparison.. At least 2min into the vid the guy seems to be fairly reasonable and championing against selfish pricks. The member in question would be more about telling us why the rights of those selfish pricks trump our rights and why we should all die

Awesome stuff! There was a crash on the weekend on the 401 and they closed the highway at Mississauga Rd., people were doing the exact same thing.... guess what happened? Another lane of stopped traffic, no space for help to get through.... I thought only GTA people were this prickish!

People that do this and those cut across the painted shoulders at the start of merge lanes deserve a good ol' slap!

I'll let one of these selfish jerk offs in, and then I straddle the lane so nobody else decides to make it a train... Funny when the other car behind me does the same thing.
Nothing more irritating than being patient, getting in the unobstructed lane early so not to cut anyone off, then have to sit and wait while all the impatient $*%^tards decide they are more important and hop in to an on ramp to try and cut us all off.

Shoulder is for the emergency vehicles, you saving 5 minutes isn't worth the life of someone that needs that ambulance/fire truck there NOW.

2 days ago on the 400 i saw people reversing in traffic + others using the on ramp to get off....

I've seen more motorcycles riding or "lane splitting" the shoulder than cars in a gridlock scenario.

As for those ****tards who wait till the last possible moment to get in front of a bunch of people who were respectful enough to line up and wait, past a certain point, I don't let any of them in. I get into the blocking position and then I adjust my speed so they can't get in in front of me or behind me for that matter. Favourite spots: 427/Gardiner and Allen/Lawrence. Actually these days you have to be careful with that (and I'm glad that I drive WAY less than before) as Section 172 rewards those ****tards by leaving you open to charges...

stopping or slowing down a motor vehicle in a manner that indicates the driver’s sole intention in stopping or slowing down is to interfere with the movement of another vehicle by cutting off its passage on the highway or to cause another vehicle to stop or slow down in circumstances where the other vehicle would not ordinarily do so,

I guess you can accelerate not to let them get in front of you but you can't slow down after that so they can't get behind you :(

I applaud this guy for what he did. If that's the law in GB, then it should be followed. You would never see traffic using the shoulder here on the 401.

That said, those of you getting upset about right lane bandits, you realize that if done properly, they actually improve traffic flow? Using all available lanes effectively enables better flow. However, there are definitely places along the 401 where there are lane markers to discourage this practice. The Dixon/Martin Grove onramp on the 401 eastbound, and the Yonge offramp at 401 westbound spring to mind. I will use these lanes, on the bike or car, but make sure to merge in before the line becomes solid. I merge into traffic at the same speed, ensuring no interruption.

Agreed, with the caveat in bold. My rule of thumb is always let one vehicle merge.
If everyone did this, lanes would merge like an expertly shuffled deck of cards, with minimal change in speed or flow.

It's the idiots at either extreem that mess it up:
a) The ones who fly to the end of the merge lane, way faster than the flow, and slam on the brakes and merg at or past the point where they are starting to drive on the shoulder.
b) The ones who hog the lane next to the merge lane, won't speed up or slow down, unless you try to get ahead of them, in which case they speed up too.
