Brand New 2010 Suzuki GSX-R 600 shakes in first gear

Just a quick question... this is my first bike and me and my friends were scratching our heads to try and figure out if it's normal or not for the GSXR to shake when switching to first gear with the clutch fully depressed. My friend has a 2007 SV650 and his doesn't do that. As a matter of fact , we put my GSXR on a bike stand and with the clutch fully depressed and in any gear the rear wheel starts spinning. Though when it is on the ground it does not move anywhere with the clutch fully depressed. Right now its a 1000 KM on my bike and its been doing that ever since new. The dealer is kind of far from me and I don't trust them anyways. :)

Any thoughts ?

this is normal and nothing to worry about.

the spinning wheel is caused by parasitic drag, most bikes will do this in a no load, wheels up situation.

Normal, I have a 2010 750 and does the same thing, make sure you do your 1000km service as it is the most important one

not suggesting this has anything to do with it, but dare i ask, which dealer did you purchase from?

Completely normal. Even with the clutch plates separated you will have a vortex of oil spinning. This 'spinning' oil has just enough force to turn the wheel, not really much more then that, it would never move the bike.

Thanks, I feel much better now.... I did my oil change and chain lube at 900km... Bought the bike from Suzuki of Newmarket... I have the whole story to tell about a few retards working at Suzuki of Brampton but that's a different topic, I will post it someday in dealer reviews...

Another quick question.... I used castrol chain lube which I bought in Canadian tire, is it good enough ?

It's junk. Go to Lowes and buy the Dupont Teflon stuff.

Does not matter what chain lube you use, someone always has something better. Use something that says it is for motorcycle chains. And then don't tell anyone else what you use, because it will always be the wrong one.

LOL. I agree. Any lube is better than no lube. But ... I do like the Dupont Teflon stuff because it doesn't fling and make a mess of my bike.
