Brand new 09 Ninja sat for 3years what to do?

Hey ya, Just got my first bike 09 ninja 250 and it has 89km on it!
the gf's mom bought it in 09 rode it in a parking lot a few times and then called it quits and has sat ever since in a heated underground.

Now the question is what is the best thing for the bike to get it's internals clean and road worthy? Any advice would be gratefully appreciated:)

do an oil change, plus filter
drain the gas
fill up the tank with fresh gas, and add the recommended amount of seafoam
start her up and go ride the snot out of it......

naturally check the rest of the fluids, check brake operation, check tire pressure, check lights and what not, and charge battery if not already done

check gas tank for rust on the inside, if it was not a full tank of gas, condensation could have crept in....

that should be about it

you might need new tires, if they have a flat spot, and or dry rot, cracking, and or just bloody old, 5 years sitting around is getting close to the limits of what I would deem safe for me.

I will change all the fluids in the bike (engine oil, coolant, brake fluids). Maybe use some kind of carb cleaners, definitely put in new gas.

make sure you use convential oil. and not synthetic...its still in its break in period.

If its been sitting since 09 you will need to clean the pilot jets I would put money on it.

I use a little funnel that goes into the fuel line (disconnect fuel line from gas tank). Find a way to support the funnel (duct tape, zip ties etc). The funnel might hold 6 or 8 ounces. Use a very strong mixture of gas and Seafoam. That has worked for me to clear out gummed up carbs. I don't know if that works on particulate but that shouldn't be a concern anyway. Once rideable, use the recommended dosage of Seafoam to clear the other jets and passages.

Good score, lucky guy!
