Boxing Week Shopping

I haven't went boxing day/week shopping for almost 3yrs, I've totally forgotten how crazy it is. Looking for parking spots, lining up for everything & the amount of crazy people .

The only reason I went shopping this week is because I had a few things I needed. Other than that, I don't see how some people can go thru this kind of torture.

Good God!!! <facepalm>

I wouldn't go near the malls on Boxing day (or week) even if they were giving stuff away for free!
I hate shopping at the best of times, but when you add in crowds like that, I'm totally out.

I went to cibi Saturday. USPS ****ed up and my bindings got delayed. I woke up at 5:30, crossed the border at 8:30. I went right through. By 9:30 the lineup was way over the bridge. Must have sucked to wait in that line-up.

I went to the mall on boxing day and at first thought...this isn't bad.

Then I almost had a spaz attack (or maybe I did...) and beelined it out of there. And this coming from someone who usually enjoys going to the mall. I hate people who "wall" in the mall as much as those who do it on the road. At least I can crank up the music, curse at the top of my lungs, and flail my hands around like an ape in the car....

Is it just me or were there no good deals this year.

Work gave us $100 gift card to Vaughan Mills and i went yesterday to blow it...For the love of me i couldnt find a single thing that caught my eye...

Deals did indeed suck this year.

I just shop online you can get the same deals almost online so why bother going in store.

There hasn't been any real boxing day sales since I was still in my late teens / early 20's. Heck, the "Black Friday" sales that just past in November were way better.

I think this is the shift in how stores are operating, aligning more with the American program, epsecially when our $ is ~par... People will flock over the border to get the Black Friday deals, so Canadian retailers compete with there own Black Friday deals to keep $'s at home. No formal "Boxing Day" in the states so retailers do not have to compete the same for consumers

I actually got a deal a week before Boxing day from THE BAY. The Samsonite 2-piece luggage (29" and 21") for $119..regular $530.

I used to work retail when I was in high school. Other than a few door crasher deals offered in limited quantities to attract shoppers to your door, the boxing week blow out deals are really no different from the deals leading up to Christmas. In some cases, the prices were actually more expensive than you would find in early December.
