Anybody have any dealings service wise with this dealership and if so would you recommend them. Looking at getting valves checked and tires changed out on a 2007 ST1300. Thanks.

If you mean Clarington Cycle (N/W of Liberty & 401) - I had them do a check-up on a "TSB" I got from Honda, for my 'wing. Seemed like a pretty decent group - the guy who worked on my bike, knew his stuff. In and out quickly, with no issues.

If you mean Clarington Honda (the Powerhouse), I'm interested as well. I bought my bike there (CBR250R) and can't say I was overly impressed, but I did get the first service thrown in for free. If they have a bad review however, I'd rather just do the service myself/get it done elsewhere.

The only issue I had with them is I took my bike (CBR250RA) in for its first service, and they said they didn't know how much it was since it was so "new" (this was like a month ago). They gave me a quote for oil, oil filter, and valve check. I mainly only wanted to do it for the valves, they tell me to drop in on a morning.

Arrive, drop off my bike, hand over my keys, they start working. 1-2 hours later they come out and say its done, and I thought to myself, "That was quick!" then they tell me they only changed the oil and oil filter and I would have to leave my bike overnight for valves.

This would have been okay if they had told me ahead of time. But instead they said they just did the oil change for me and can't do the valves, the main reason I went in for the first place!!! They said the bike had to be cold for them to do the check.

If they needed the bike overnight, they should have told me on the phone to make an appointment for the evening so I could leave it and get a ride to drive me home, but no they scheduled me for the morning regardless.

So naturally this is kind of a P.O since I went in for valves mainly, and got charged $110 for getting an oil change I could have done myself. They do it and then tell me they can't do the valve check.

I just found that slightly inconsiderate. Maybe others have had better experiences. I'm just going to stick with trying to do things myself now.

I would by pass on Clarington Honda altogether and go to Cameron Cycle in Peterborough. I have heard of too many bad experiences with their service. I have a 2007 ST1300 myself and Cameron Cycle have been awesome with any service work that they performed. Cameron Cycle is a certified Honda Motorcycle Dealer and they have been in the business for well over 20 years!!
Just my 2 cents worth

I had clarington honda do a safety for a bike i sold last year. Needed a new battery, so buyer brought one in. I had the negative cable and the power source for the pc III together so they would know it had one. Tech hooked up just the negative cable and said it wouldn't start. So i went in, and within about 2 minutes i had the bike turning over, smell the exhaust. Sounds like it's just pumping air not getting any gas. look under the seat and lo and behold they didn't hook up the pc III. I hooked it up and boom, starts up no problem. It took them 2 hours i believe to try to figure it out. i had it in 10 minutes total. Sales guy mike is a good guy, but would never go there for service.

Wow hmm, I had them throw in free first service with my CBR250R, but now I am debating if I should even let them look at it. Should I be worried about letting them do the oil and inspect the valves? I could go to Brampton, however the fact that the bike has to sit overnight would mean I'd need both a ride back from the dealership one day and back out to the dealership the next.

All in all, I just don't want them damaging by bike somehow while they are working on the engine...
