I did a google searched and looked on Royal Distrubting's website but have had no luck finding a store that sells Bohn or Knox back protectors, anyone know any place within an hour and a half of toronto that sells either brand?

recommend you consider Knox or Forcefield, for Knox look at Kahuna or topendz.com, Forcefield look at BlueStreak racing

Forcefield sub-4 is where its at. Transmits the least amount of force to the body, super comfortable and 1/2 a lb lighter than the knox ricochet. I dont know why anyone would bother with anything else. Bluestreak has them.

I have sas-tec back protector insert in all my jackets. I hit pavement hard at ~150 km/h and walked away without a single scratch or bruise.

And nothing against forcefield or knox - I hear they are awesome and stuff. Just wanted to share my 2 weeks old experience :) I usually get full set of armor from draggin jeans - shoulder, elbow and back is under $100 if you ship USPS. Nice things about it are - superlight, supersoft, you don't feel it at all and you can cut it to fit.

I bought the Forcefield sub-4 back protector from Bluestreak 2 years ago. Wear it everyday and love it (never had a crash yet so can't claim to it's competency). I can claim that shipping and customer service from Bluestreak is top notch.
Having said that, my one complaint about the BP is the suspender straps. The way they're situatied (2009 model, don't know if they've changed it) are way back on the back protector itself. This was very uncomfortable for me and always 'felt' them while riding. This made me think about them while riding and always having to shift them (like a bra strap) when at a stop. I didn't like that too much so I modded it like the Knox protectors and cut it out and put the suspender onto the belt strap instead. Much better feel and now I don't have to adjust my "bra straps" any more:eek:

If I had to do it again (back then) I would go for the Knox Aegis and if I had to do it now I would buy the Knox Meta-Sys.

Also love my Forcefield, no complaints about the strap placement though. once on I don't notice it at all. Looking at the replacement armour as well since I figure most stock armour only meets the lower 50 joule impact threshold while the Forcefield meets the top 90 joule level.
Not sure though if Knox is still a single incident type of armour while the Forcefield can have repeateable impacts.

Where did you get it? And do they only have the back protector or shoulder/elbow, as well?

I ask 'cause I tried sourcing sas-tec years ago (probably one of the most underrated armour companies) but it ended up costing a fortune to order from Germany.

Yes, back protector inserts in different sizes. I also tried to get it for a while from Germany but it was to much $$$. I get mine from here - http://dragginjeans.com/ They sell separate pieces and shirt, jacket armor kits.
