If any of you are out west of Ottawa way (a ride around Calabogie, Lanark Highlands or on the way to Ottawa) then look no further than this place if you need any work done or need tires and tire changes. Ride in tire changes with static balancing are $45 for front and rear (that's total...not each!). You can have tires shipped there from Pete's too but Don also has good prices on Bridgestones and Dunlops with a few sets in the garage. He has by far the best shop rates I've ever seen and work is very professional and friendly and small jobs are done while you wait. Larger jobs you'd need to leave the bike overnight for.
All this is by appointment only but Don keeps very handy hours so if you need your tires changing after a day of riding at 6pm for instance then it's all good, give Don a call.
Black's Corners Tire is located near Carleton Place and "We're about 30 minutes west of Stittsville, and once your new rubber is on you'll find yourself a short distance away from Rideau Lakes, Lanark Highlands, Calabogie & The Black Donald Mts. All great areas for scenic and/or twisty riding" ...in the words of the owner Don.
He also sells filters and general bits and pieces for bikes but you will have to check inventory. He can order in what you need in advance.
I've been there a few times already and I'm set to go again this coming week to get my Pilot Road 3's from Petes (delivered to the garage) installed. I rode in for a quick chain adjustment (which cost me all of $10) and I had some bigger work done when a bolt sheared off and I couldn't get it out. Don drilled the hole from the other side, removed the broken bolt, tapped the hole and put new threads in. Manufactured a new bolt for me (colour matched black for the frame, it was a spring retainer for a centre stand), and fitted and greased my new stand for about $80, he also showed me how to check my brake wear when I asked. I made this sound like a short job, but it wasnt due to the position of the bolt. He helped me out of a big bind.
Highly recommended.
