Get or borrow a bike you dont mind crashing, put a crash cage on it and take it to nice big parking lot and start playing around with the bike...The only way to learn is to get out there and try it...Some gearing or a big HP helps to break it loose easier, tips and advice will help, but its still up to you just getting out there and willing to try and also not afraid to drop your bike....

So drifting is just counter steering and locking up your rear brakes? Whats the technique? or do you just have to get a feel for it. Would it work on a scooter lol.

Not at all, locking your rear brakes and sliding is a power slide, drifting is the complete opposite. Drifting is under power and hard acceleration...When the rear wheel kicks out as it looses traction, instead of backing off you lay on it and maintain the drift..

You can lock your brakes and power slide into a drift, but its the dumping of the clutch and hard acceleration that makes a drift start. If you have a large amount of gearing or HP, or if your on sandy pavement you dont even need to use the clutch, just hard accel will break it loose. Then its all throttle control, body position, and counter steering...Youll notice that most drifts the front wheel is turned in the opposite direction of the turn the bike is making...
