WACO, Tex. — A police spokesman said on Monday that 192 people were being charged in the shootout among rival motorcycle gangs at a busy shopping plaza in the Central Texas city of Waco on Sunday that left at least nine bikers dead and 18 others wounded.
The individuals, who were detained after the shootout on, will face charges of engaging in organized crime over the gunfire that broke out at the Central Texas Marketplace, in south Waco just off Interstate 35, Sgt. Patrick Swanton, a Waco Police Department spokesman, said on Twitter.

Twin Peaks, the restaurant where members of the motorcycle clubs had gathered, will be closed at least a week as part of an investigation by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, Sergeant Swanton said. In addition, he said, parts of the shopping plaza will remain closed on Monday as investigators process a crime scene “littered with bullets, blood and other evidence.”

Wow. I can't believe this happened.

That's big...REALLY BIG!!! Going to get worse as the summer goes on. It'll be happening in other cities now.

I was always lead to believe "outlaw club members" were just a bunch of motorcycle enthusiasts who did charity toy runs.

Rather hard to believe, since the guns and knives apparently came out before police arrived.

not that I'm defending anyone here, but in every report I've read about this incident, there was a police presence at the scene before the shooting started.

As far as I can tell from the reports, the fight started in the washroom of the restaurant and spilled out into the parking lot, where officers were patrolling the bike night.

Yeah, maybe I'll just skip L&L for a bit. It's not very fun with a bunch of cops walking around watching me.

Police were definitely in the area because several groups they refer to as criminal organizations were present, but the trouble started before they actually arrived on scene. I don't know if I believe that they started "taking fire", but I have very little doubt that there was gunfire when they arrived.

Well, here we go again. After the media blitz on this every guy who rides a motorcycle is suddenly going to be an outlaw biker.

Even a 70 yr old retired teacher, lol. Gotta love the stereotype

Maybe we should have "pink shirt day" for motorcycles to recoup our reputation. Of course, if a bunch of guys with pink shirts started shooting at each other, it would ruin the reputation of pink shirts forever.

Oooo that's gotta sting!
