Hey guys,
I thought I'd get a nice ride in today but unfortunately that's not happening. Had the batter tender say the battery was full last week so didn't top up today.

- no whirring noise
- tried bump starting it to no success
- connected booster cables and the bike started
- soon as I disconnect the +/ - (either) dash starts going crazy and does out
- tried boosting it a few times and each time I disconnect its the same issue

- any suggestions? Ill put the battery tender on fully tonight until tomorrow
- it's a 2011 CBR250r

thanks!

Faulty battery tender? Mine said full when my battery was dead. If it start when jump starting then I'd say dead battery.

Sounds like a bad battery to me.

Got a multimeter you can hook up to the battery and see voltage and such?

Sounds like a bad battery. Replace it asap, trying to run it with a battery like that can fry all kinds of other stuff!!!

Ok thanks guys i thought it was the alternator since it wouldn't hold the charge. Ill check with dealer if its covered under warranty as I have the extended warranty from Honda.

You can bring the battery to canadian tire and they will test it for free.
Last time I tried that their machine didn't have the right setting for motorcycle batteries. If they use the car battery setting it'll say your brand new motorcycle battery is bad.

Replaced the battery and bike runs like a charm! Thanks everyone for the suggestions and quick responses.

Yesterdays first, but short, ride felt awesome! Now if only it wasn't raining today!
