Oh no... You'd get legally RAPED here in Canada for doing it. Hell, you'd probably get similar treatment in the U.S. It's wrong for a common citizen a.k.a. "civvie scum" (in l.e.o. lingo) to defend his person or property. If somebody is stealing your property and you look at him cockeyed, that's already assault. Push him away and it's battery. God forbid that you use a bag to push him away as that can be assault with a deadly weapon. Those guys were concealing their identities for a reason (assuming the vid is even real).

Bicycle theft is taken even less seriously than motorcycle theft (if possible). I once called the police to report where the thief was hanging out with stolen property at the very moment and they wouldn't act on it without me getting a serial number. So the police won't do anything about it, we can't do anything about it and thieving scum gets free reign.
 
What a stupid thing to do.(if it's real,which i doubt) Even a bicycle thief is going to do anything in his power to defend himself and not get caught.And if he happens to have his big brothers 9mm with him and starts getting attacked,he will panic and fire at will.Stupid,just plain stupid.
 
Funny and not stupid at all. Somehow I doubt a bicycle thief is packing heat, and even if he was, the dudes shooting paintballs and pepper spray at him had it covered. lol

SOMEHOW?? you can just assume hes not carrying a weapon.....and if the bike thief is pushed edge, i doubt he would even need a weapon to kill one of the paint ball dudes.

Yeah I'd totally be able to get at my gun and place a few aimed shots while being pelted by 3 paintball guns and pepper spray.

Damn, I don't know where your from, but I live in MA and the cops here would give me a pat on the back for doing something like that to a caught thief hehe..

ps: even if they didn't, just say the bike thief claimed he had a knife and was coming towards you. He's already discredited for attempting to steal your property :) They tend to treat people like that a bit worse

Yikes.. And over here.. You know what a man who caught a thief after stealing from his store twice in the same day and the man who chased away a group of thugs who threw Molotovs at his house (with his family in it) by firing a couple of warning shots got in common? They both got arrested and charged with criminal offenses!!!
 
that's hilarious, yup, totally justified, but if you are gonna do it up here...make sure you get the hell out of there and leave no trail...police will hang you up here for the littlest things...

Not in Canuckistan - it's a criminal offence unless they consent to it - iirc, it's assault and the imitation or toy gun is deemed to be a real firearm. You may be better off throwing rocks. :rolleyes:

A paintball marker is considered a firearm under the law. You are not even allowed to shoot targets in your backyard with one. :rolleyes:
 
The beginning of the video looks like real video recorded from actual thefts, the rest of it looks staged to make it some sort of campaign video against theft.
