I have a 2004 honda cbr 600rr and i was riding into work on monday and the bike died on the highway so i pulled over and turned the bike off and back on and it started. On the way home the bike gave me no problems. Yesterday i rode to work with no problems until i was heading home, the bike died 8-9 times but everytime i pulled over turned the key off and back on the bike would start. Does anyone have a clue what the hell is going on? Thanks for the feedback.

When screwing on the connectors to the battery, use a socket wrench, and NOT a screwdriver..

After being sure that the fuel pump is working, and the fuel filter clean, I would begin inspecting the entire wiring harness for shorts or bare wires grounding out on the frame......If you aren't the 1st oner, you may find butchered wiring from previous owner's sloppy installs of ricer-lights or heated grips etc. I just pulled 30 feet of suspect wiring out of a friend's 94 ZX6 from goofy LED's and a poorly installed alarm and heated grips.

Had this happen to me 2 days ago.

Ends up I was out of gas <___< (I have no gas meter).

Use your odometer and fill when you get close to your range.

For the op maybe check if there is switch on the kickstand that is triggering.

I was going to post the same suggestion - my kickstand interlock switch has been killing the bike randomly for the last week or so. (I hate safety interlocks :)

Based on the fact that it just shuts off and when you go to fire it back up again it seems to just start fine, I would look at this first.
Think: was the bike shutting off after a small bump?

Good suggestion Baggsy.
