Bike knocked over - Bay and Hayter (north of Gerrard)

Great thread....would read again...

On a serious note...that really sucks. I'd be ****** if someone did that to my bike.

Hayter

Not much information in your post; was the motorcycle knocked over (you saw it happening) or did it fall over (yesterday was very windy).

Too many quality posts. I desire balance.

Poor way to start the season - with an insurance claim.

That's the exact spot where I found that abandoned Ninja 400. Decent chance that's the bike you're talking about.

I'll take an abandoned Ninja 400. They're going for like, 10k on Kijiji.

South side of the street, gracefully resting rubber side up?

Reasonably priced and lady ridden.

Perhaps it's time motorcycle designers addressed the stupid sidestand, which hasn't changed in 100 years.

Most bikes use to have center stands, but those are now rare.

You think in the era of cheap g sensors someone would make a retractable actuator that would deploy if the engine was off and the bike was tipped 10 degrees off it's axis.
Or a stand that folded out first, then down in a wide, stable triangle. Just not sexy enough.

Most standard bikes & touring bikes come with centre stand. Not so much on a SS, weight is an issue

Cost is the issue. Make it detachable for track days.
And mount it to where? Honestly where do you come up with this stuff? You think cost is the issue but the answer is retractable actuators? Supersports shouldn't be allowed on the streets anyways remember?

You're right, a system where $1500-2000 damage is caused by wind or a slight nudge from the side or rear makes much more sense.

Wind is now going to knock my bike over? Quick lets invent a bubble to hold it while I'm not riding. You know, just in case.
