Bike died Burning smell!!

I have a 2006 gsxr 600. this spring had the volt rectif done on it (should this be ruled out?). So anyways was on 401 slowed down in traffic, smelt a strong burning smell (eletrical components) kept going, trying to pull off 401, but she died. Pulled over on the left side ********g scary on a bike!!! Just put in a brand new battery that day from royal! Checked the fuse box low beam headlight and ignition fuse blown..switched them bike turns and doesnt start? And it doesnt prime.. took off tank and tested pump got readings, its good...

I had changed the battery cause my hid would shut off on me while i was riding, i would shut the bike off and turn it back on so i could keep getting light while i was riding in the country, my phone was dead didnt have a choice, couldnt call caa or a buddy to pick me up. im wondering if it is possible that i could have overloaded or directly cause my electrical system to have this problem by jump starting it pretty much at higher speeds.

Kinda worried about what this could potentially cost me ? lol got this bike thinking would be better bike than my thunderace (1997 yzf) but just giving me headaches!

I apologize if there is a trend for this already couldnt find what i was looking for!

Your stator is shot. There have been numerous threads on this. Very common on these bikes. Stators and Regulators should usually be replaced both at the same time. I've been through 2 already. Be prepared for a close to $1k repair bill.

Any chance your headlight problems were caused by an intermittent short that is now not intermittent? I would doubt battery is related to HID problem. Find the source of that problem and fix it.

Stator was replaced along with blown fuses. Bike still doesnt prime! i also tried to put it into dealer mode by grounding the white wire with the stripe and the black wire with the white stripe. ( stand alone female plug under main seat) so i can see what codes come up. no luck with that.

Looking for a service manual for 2006 gsxr 600 ( send me a link, from a very recent quality download)
