Bike didn't start, now it does.....

So my bike was fine until yesterday morning after taking a ride with the gf. Try to start it and nothing, was in neutral, even tried clutch in kickstand up, tried everything, pressed the start button and nothing. Listened and heard the fuel pump priming, press the starter and noticed that the time on the dash kept resetting, so I thought it was the battery. Luckily I was on a hill, so I just rolled it down and push started it. Went home to check if it would start again, and everything was fine back to normal.

My question is the only thing I think that could've caused this was I stuffed my passenger seat with gloves and other stuff full (could barely close it), could that stuff in there hit a connection or something? I was just wondering if it was a coincidence, I forgot to check my battery with the voltmeter yesterday when I got home, I'm going to that tonight. BTW, I bought the battery about 2 years ago, its a Yuasa from Rider's Choice.
