It's kinda scary because I offer rideshares on kijiji..... I never had a problem, but with all these stories out there I should be a little bit more concern.

This happened in the McDonalds parking lot, middle of the day, in WHITBY!!! WHITBY!!!?! :( Guy was selling his imac. Shoulda brought some friends with him I guess :(

Wtf? I sell nothing of value on kijiji anyway, but that's scary.
 
As much as i hate to sound crude and unfeeling, its a statistical insignificance. I bet you that tens of thousands of people meet every day from kijiji, craigslist etc to do deals. If you think of it that way, someone being jumped for a truck happens one in million. So to harp on how selling something on kijiji is fraught with danger, makes it sound as if though every time you meet with someone people are exchanging gun fire....

With that being said, i hope hes okay, and that those dirt bags get whats coming to them.
 
I cannot count how much crap I've unloaded on kijiji. Never had an issue. I've sold 5 cars on there. This is an isolated case, sad none the less.
 
Its funny yesterday i sold some tires for my corvette off kijiji. The guy who was driving out from woodbridge said this exactly to me.

Him : You seen the new lately of the guy who got taken from kijiji?
Me: yep, its all over the news
Him : your not going to kidnap me or rob me are you?
Me : No. ( followed by a long bout of laughter)

hahahaha! Did he still show up??? lol.

Shoulda had a big fire axe handy when he came to pick him up... "What's the axe for?" ... "Just in case ;)" lol.

After the laughter you should give a long pause then interject
"my tires are in the basement, can you go down & get them for me? "
