Best place for M2 test

aurora is quite easy... and streets are pretty empty... i thought it was mandatory to take the course these days...?

Not sure what is best, but you should be comfortable in your abilities to pass it anyplace, anytime if your going for your M.

You can give the test without it. If you take the course then you just give MTO a sealed envelope and they will give you your M2, given you pass the course.

Just wondering if it works like G series. I found the test instructors at Port Union were way forgiving, given i failed my G the first time in Brampton( i just get anxious and then the adrenaline starts pumping, especially during tests). Passed both my G2 and G at port Union.

The perception that the employees administering the test are easier at one location compared to another is false. People everywhere are different. Is it possible you were better prepared for your 2nd test therefore you think the instructor was easier?

If you know the rules of the road, you can pass at any location.

I took all my driving tests at Downsview, which is supposed to be the hardest location in the GTA and probably Ontario. I passed and I don't consider myself to be a good driver, I just know the rules and I listened to instructions and asked for clarification if necessary.

I have had bad and good in the same location. First time for M they failed me for accelerating to fast going merging onto a highway because a car was pacing me and it was either merge on slower then the speed limit or a quick turn of the wrist to get safely ahead and at speed. I went back a week later and got perfect. Yes it can be a bit nerve wracking when doing any ministry test, but end of the day you should know the rules of the road, and if you follow those you will pass. They are not different in other locations. If your not confident in your riding abilities (not saying you are) then you should hold off and get to a point where you are comfortable and can easily navigate any road anywhere in Canada without really giving it much though.

They're all exactly the same.

Can't agree with this. I did my M1exit in Brampton and the guy was a real d!ck and failed everyone except a rider on a 125. Yes, 2 of the group should have failed but 3 others were fine other than a couple foot touches on the slalom (all of us had large bikes). It was also crazy windy that day which didn't help. The tester told me I should go borrow a friends small bike. I told him this was ridiculous as I should pass on the bike I plan to ride. 2 weeks later I took it in Orangeville and everyone passed, and it was a collection of sport bikes, beaters, cruisers and even a Spyder. While the test was probably exactly the same the tester in Orangeville did a good job of calming everyone down and not making anyone feel rushed.

I think if you do a search you'll find that Brampton location often shows up as negative.

I took my M2 exit test in Barrie. I got there early and there were two guys waiting to take their test, then me and 1 guy after me. One of them ahead of me failed and the one after me failed. I do not like taking tests of any kind either, but like some people here have said.....If you know the rules of the road and are confident in your riding abilities you should pass anywhere. If you took the motorcycle course and paid attention they taught you everything that you would need to pass.
I found that when I took the course the ones who failed were the ones who pulled up on their own bike and thought they knew it all but over the time they had to practice for years on their own, they just learnt a lot of bad habits they couldn't break when it came time to be tested.
In my opinion you should feel confident to pass that test at any MTO, even the hardest (if there is such a thing).

totally Agree.
Even when I did the M2 Exit test, I was amazed at the skills of riders showing up. One girl dropped her bike getting on it. I enjoyed doing the course (Humber) for M1 exit as well - it was a lot of fun.

Anyway. whatever you do, good luck.

Like I said in the part you didn't quote me; people everywhere are different. It's not the Brampton test centre that was the issue, it was a particular examiner. You could have retested in Brampton, with a different examiner and passed.

I misread the original question, thought he was going for his M, not his M2. Taking a MSF course is a good idea, they start you from the beginning up to street riding. Teach you the fundamentals, give you really good info from years of riding the instructors have. I would recommend taking a weekend and doing the course. Bonus side is you get your M2 when you pass the course and just need to hand a slip in at the MTO to get your M2.

agreed. it's worth the 400 & change.

it's always nice to learn from professionals in controlled environments... especially on a bike that isn't yours :p
