Best downtown ride?

the cheese cake ride :)

Favourite downtown ride?

The one that heads out of the city!

Jokes aside - taking lakeshore from parklawn into the core.. heading up the DVP.

Not quite downtown but Rosedale Valley Rd. down to Bayview extension then north up the hill is quite fun.

if you like stop and go traffic, then just turn any street within the financial district and you'll be in heaven.

No downtown ride is a good downtown ride.

It literally took a buddy and I nearly an hour to get out and find an acceptable route back to Scarborough today. It was a horrible commute out of DT today.

Yup, I agree that the Pottery Rd - Bayview - Rosedale Valley Rd route is pretty much the most blissful ride in the city. It isn't long, but its a definite oasis - especially early on a Sunday.

I like riding down the DVP on a beautiful cool morning when traffic is flowing.

How to experience this. Ride your bike to work EVERY morning for 2 years. You will surely experience ONE day like this. Unless you skip a day and then that was probably the day you would have experienced it. :p

Saying "heyy how you doin'?" to every girl in yoga pants on Queen St.

Contemplated riding downtown the whole season...and not once that it happened.

Not enjoyable riding through traffic...

Maybe I'll try again next season.....

I rode to Leslie Lakeshore last night from Vaughan to meet some friends, took mostly 60kph roads down, checked out Yonge St,etc.
Plenty of bikes out if you need a destination.

The condition of many of the roads in the city is horrendous. Blown fork seals anyone?

The DVP home was ok but too much traffic, even long after rush hour is supposedly.

the road near cherry beach, nice long stretch to speed your bike, then a few curves and some 90 degrees turn to finish up. If you can get your bike pass the gate, go in tommy thompson at night, no cops there.

I know that stretch.

I'm 1 km from 407, tons of fast, clear country roads in the same time it takes me to get down there!
